Describe your product's design and/or technological innovation.
Surveillance from altitudes of several hundred feet provides a birds-eye view. For years mounting the camera to the highest point (atop a pole or roof) was the only way to view large crowds at special events, border security and tactical applications like crime searches, searching for missing persons, natural disasters, etc.
With greater system control, higher altitude reach and more rapid deployment in mind, IC Realtime developed a stabilized aerial platform called Persistent Low Altitude Surveillance.
PLAS is comprised of a flight deck and imaging unit attached to a 6-foot wide tactical grade balloon system that can reach an altitude of 455-feet.
Flight deck is a 6" x 3" x 3" carbon fiber housing containing command, control, communications equipment which provide encrypted communications to fixed or mobile command centers, authorized mobile users.
Any IC Realtime camera (I-Sniper nighttime; 360° PTZ; 720° VR; Thermal) can be used as can air sampling detection units such CBRNE. Imaging device gets mounted to a designated gimbal connected to flight deck.
Communications are sent via point-to-multipoint 5.8gHZ transmission system via IP connectivity (opposed to traditional RC). IP makes possible one operator to control multiple PLAS systems at once making PLAS unlike other aerial platforms.
Describe the three most important functional features of this product. What sets it apart from other products in this category?
1) Rapid Deployment: PLAS can be deployed to 455 feet in a matter of minutes.
2) Drones are both noisy and limited by battery life and distance. In contrast, PLAS can be powered from the ground or via IC Realtime’s solar power battery packs to provide long duration -- and silent -- surveillance.
3) PLAS is a “Force Multiplier” in that it can see what would take hundreds of people on the ground to see. This makes it the ultimate in OverWatch surveillance protection.
Describe the benefits that your product provides to the integrator, including value if applicable.
There are tremendous opportunities for security sales & installation companies with clients in need of aerial monitoring of large areas for purposes of security, public safety, intrusion, etc.
For example, PLAS was recently flown at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens; the Homestead Motor Speedway Sprint Cup, and the Fort Lauderdale international Boat Show. It will be used at upcoming ULTRA Festival in South Beach, FL, the upcoming Daytona 500 race and more.
IC Realtime’s Special Operations Group collaborates with dealers to specify and deploy PLAS systems and provide any necessary ongoing support.
